Blogging Innovation is moving from the Blogger platform to the WordPress platform today.
What does this mean for you?
Well, there may be some disruption in the blog. Sometime today you’ll see the whole blog switch over, and for a time there may be some broken links. I’ll try to fix them all up, but it would be a huge help if people could report any broken links that they find.
RSS subscriptions to our may or may not need to be updated. If you’re subscribed to the blog via feedburner, then the switch should be automatic, but if you’re subscribed to atom.xml or rss.xml you may have to re-subscribe in the ‘Where to Follow Along’ section of the sidebar when the new site goes live. I will try to forward the old feed urls to the new ones but I’m not sure whether that will work or not.
The move to WordPress will have several key benefits:
- Better searching
- There will be a search box right below the monthly sponsor’s logo
- Better visibility
- People will finally be able to see that Blogging Innovation has more than 1,100 articles (and growing)
- More content will be exposed on the main page
- Page navigation controls at the bottom of pages will make it possible to see all the articles in a categoy for once
- More fun
- People can explore the blog more organically – at random at the bottom if they wish!
- Blogging Innovation v2.0 will feel more alive
